After 2 weeks of job hunting with no luck, I got lucky and landed 2 jobs in one day! One at Beehive Home, an assisted living facility and another at a call center. I absolutely LOVE my job at Beehive Home. AND one of the best parts is I finally have a purpose to wear scrubs on a regular basis! As I have promised people for a very long time, I danced after I bought my first pair and I will dance again when I get a pair that is for a nursing school!
On another note, there are two things I have always prided myself on. Any guesses? My perfect vision and teeth. Unfortunately my record has been broken. After meeting with an optometrist for the first time ever, I have to get glasses! I know. not cool. But kind of funny since I wore a fake pair around a little bit last year and now I have a real pair. Next. I went to the dentist, which was a big deal because I don't like the dentist! I expected everything to be normal, but come to find out I have 12 cavities!! I know, I probably shouldn't be telling the whole world about its kind of crazy. None of them are big, they are all tiny baby cavities, and I only have to get 9 of them fixed :) that's a record I think. All because I didn't floss my teeth. So the lesson to be learned from this? FLOSS YOUR TEETH!
I am officially a Utah resident now, with the drivers license and everything! They thankfully let me keep my Texas license, although it has a hole punched in it. I am even registered to vote in Utah too.
Also, I have really enjoyed keeping in touch with Provo friends, although I haven't been as good as I maybe should have been! Skyping with friends has been one of the things that has kept me afloat through this summer (you know who you are) :)
OK. So my mom and Savannah came and visited me for a week (apparently I was lonely or something) and it was so fun! I played volleyball with Savannah, my mom and I went shopping and to the temple in St. George. I think my mom was disappointed I didn't buy more :) We went to the Greenshow, which is a free outdoor play/sketch that they down here as part of the Shakespearean festival. I love the Greenshow! We also went up to my grandparents cabin for pioneer day and Savannah and I found pet snails to play with. we actually held them on our hands while they came out of their shells. I was sad to see them go.
This is my pet snail Mo. I'm not exactly sure what happened to him though!
But then my best friend Abigail came into town to visit me, it totally rocked!! We walked around campus, watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and baked a birthday cake for my Grandpa! (I'm living with my grandparents right now) We also went to the St. George Temple and then spent the rest of the afternoon/night up at my grandparents cabin. It was SO fun!
The cake AND the Grandparents! They are both great! Thanks Abigail for teaching
me your awesome ways and happy birthday Grandpa!
A BEAUTIFUL sunset up at the cabin!
So. I'm way excited for the future and am ready to start school again! Its definitely going to be different than BYU, but I still intend on having a good time! and truth be told, I will ALWAYS be a BYU fan at heart, even if I don't go there anymore. As I look back on my life in Provo, here is to all the wonderful people who were part of my life in Provo! You guys are awesome!
